Her third effort, which missed the throwing mark by 17.36 metres, earned her third place. China’s one-two was led by Gong Lijiao, who threw 19.58 metres. Song Jiayuan, a fellow countryman, scored 18.92. Manpreet Kaur, another athlete from India, placed fifth with a 16.25-meter throw. Jian Chen-Xin of Chinese Taipei finished in fourth place, almost missing out on a medal, although she was nonetheless pleased with her personal best throw of 16.61.
