Asian Games: India beat Cambodia to start campaign on a high

India outclassed Cambodia 3-0 in its opening round of the men’s volleyball competition at the Asian Games on Tuesday thanks to a commanding performance.

 

In a Pool C match, India easily defeated lower-ranked Cambodia 25-14, 25-13, and 25-19. The other team in Pool C, South Korea, ranked 27th in the world, will present a tough challenge for India on Wednesday. Men’s volleyball is being played by a total of 19 teams at the Hangzhou Games. The three main competitors are considered to be South Korea, China, and Japan.

While China is closely behind Japan with 11 gold medals in men’s volleyball at the Asian Games, and Korea is in third place with five gold medals, Japan has won 27 podium finishes with 16 golds.
