Aadhav Arjuna, president of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), said on Thursday that the first-ever senior national 3×3 basketball competition will take place from September 22 to 24 at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru indoor stadium.
At a news conference held in the indoor stadium, he made the announcement. The competition, which will be played on a half-court set up in accordance with FIBA regulations, will feature participation from thirty teams. On Thursday, plates that have been brought from China for use as floor covering were being fixed. After the press conference, he spoke with Sportstar and revealed that there are plans to launch a national 3×3 basketball league and that certain corporations have expressed interest in sponsoring and supporting the effort in various ways.
