India’s first archery quota for the Paris Olympics 2024 is secured by Dhiraj Bommadevara

In the men’s recurve archery, Dhiraj Bommadevara earned India’s first quota for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

In the Bangkok semifinal of the Archery Continental Qualifying Tournament (ACQT), he defeated Mohammadhossein Golshani Asl of Iran 6-0. Nevertheless, the Indian had to settle for the silver medal after losing to Lin Zih-Siang of Chinese Taipei 6-5 (10-9) in a shoot-off in the championship.

After receiving clearance from the Mission Olympic Cell of the sports ministry, Bommadevara and his coach Sonam Tshering Bhutia will travel to the Kim Archery School in Korea later this month.
