Manu Bhaker first Indian to win two medals at a single Olympics edition

Manu Bhaker made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win multiple medals at a single Olympic Games. She earned a bronze medal with Sarabjot Singh in the 10m pistol mixed team event, defeating South Korea 16-10 at the Paris Olympics. Earlier, she had won another bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, opening India’s medal count at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Manu is now the second Indian woman, after P.V. Sindhu, to win two Olympic medals.

P.V. Sindhu was the first Indian woman to achieve this feat by winning a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics, where she defeated China’s He Bingjiao 21-13, 21-15.
